The words fly away, but writings remain. Even Punjabi. In an editorial published in the Punjabi Post, a Conservative candidate supports gay cure therapies suitor, saying legitimate that these people can become “normal”.
Jagdish Grewal is the Conservative candidate in Mississauga-Malton, a suburb of Toronto. Earlier this year, he signed Punjabi Post newspaper in an editorial entitled “Is it bad for a homosexual to become a normal person?” According to a report from The Canadian Press.
In his text, Grewal writes that psychologists say that a shock in childhood can cause homosexuality and that it “can be corrected.” “If it is the right of parents to establish guidelines for their children regarding education, careers and health, why should it be illegal for them to enhance their natural heterosexuality?” Says Grewal.
NDP Leader Thomas Mulcair reacted strongly saying it is “disgusting to pretend that it is not” normal “to be homosexual. All Canadians must unite to denounce all forms of homophobia. ”
The Conservative Party has responded in the evening by saying that these writings did not reflect his position and that Grewal was no longer a candidate for election.
