A man stabbed three people in Sunset Louisiana, killing one of them and shot a policeman succumbed to his injuries, according to local media.
Henry Nelson, 51, was shot and killed by the suspect, identified as Harrison Wiley Jr, according to the St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz, interviewed on NBC News.
“It’s a domestic dispute gone bad. He stabbed his wife, “said the sheriff, adding that two people had tried to intervene and were injured.
Mr. Wiley Jr, who was arrested, was also stabbed three people, one, Shameka Johnson, died of his injuries.
The suspect was then cut into a gas station convenience store before the police intervened with tear gas to particular dislodge.
The Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal wrote on the social network Twitter that “our thoughts and prayers are with the families of Henry Nelson police officer and the other victims of this tragedy.”
Earlier, a journalist from the local TV channel KATC mentioned a “covered body lying outside a house” where the confrontation had started.
The Sheriff’s Office and the Louisiana State Police did not respond immediately to requests for comment from AFP.
