A seriously injured worker in a fall in Longueuil

policeA 57 year-old worker in critical condition after a fall of several meters from the roof of a commercial building in Longueuil Friday morning.

Around 9 h 15, the experienced painter was alone on the roof of the store Sports aux Puces, on Taschereau Boulevard, to perform painting when he fell flat roof for an unknown reason. It is not known if it was attached.

The man worked for ten years to the painter St-Cyr, a company of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.

The CSST inspectors, in collaboration with the police in Longueuil, leading the investigation to shed light on the circumstances of the tragedy.

According to the Health and Safety at Work Act, a worker who risk falling more than three meters must wear a safety harness, unless it is protected by another device, such as guardrail installation the roof.
