Attempted murder in Sherbrooke: the suspect transferred to Talbot

1171596The perpetrator of an attempted murder Friday in Sherbrooke remain in custody.

The suspect was transferred to Talbot jail Saturday morning after appearing by telephone. He will face attempted murder charges. uttering threats and forcible entry.

He will appear before the judge at the courthouse of Sherbrooke Monday morning.

The man from Sherbrooke was arrested Friday after attempting to murder his former partner.

The suspect would be presented to 1 h 15 in the night from Thursday to Friday at the home of the alleged victim with the intention of ending his days, but quickly fled after failing in his attempt.

“The man tried to suffocate, but the lady was able to escape and take refuge with people she knew to call the police,” had said the spokesman of the Police Service of Sherbrooke (SPS), Philippe Dubois.

The suspect was found more than two hours drive from Sherbrooke by the Sûreté du Quebec, in a motel near Joliette. The latter was awarded to SPS, which guarded the prisoner awaiting his interrogation and his appearance.
