A man from British Columbia who was jailed in Thailand for sexually abusing young boys in Canada pleaded guilty to five charges of sex tourism and child pornography.
Christopher Neil, aged 40, pleaded guilty Wednesday in five of the ten charges against him since March 2013.
A spokesman for the prosecutors office in British Columbia, Neil MacKenzie, said the guilty pleas were for two charges of sexual interference in Cambodia in 2003, a charge of possession of child pornography in Maple Ridge in 2007 two charges of having accessed child pornography in Vancouver in 2013.
Mr. MacKenzie said the Crown does not intend to proceed with other charges.
The former English teacher has gained notoriety after Interpol had circulated online a picture of it camouflaged by a digital whirl.
The hearing for sentencing to take place in late February.
