An Air Canada plane made an emergency landing at the Halifax Stanfield International Airport on Friday night.
Air Canada flight AC623 said the pilot had reported the presence of a “pungent odor” shortly after takeoff and turned back as a precaution.
The spokesman Peter Spurway airport said earlier that the pilot noticed smoke in the cockpit, but Air Canada has ensured that this was not the case.
The Embraer 190 aircraft was to Toronto and was carrying 66 passengers.
The aircraft landed normally and no injuries were reported.
The device will be inspected to determine the source of the odor in question.
