(Trois-Pistoles) The three members of one family who perished in a violent side collision with a dump truck Thursday in Trois-Pistoles, are Sophie Chamberland, 30, Ulric Jalbert, 34, and their daughter Aurélie, 5 years.
The only survivor who was sitting in the car, a toddler of about a year and a half, suffering serious injuries. But according to the Sûreté du Québec, his life is not in danger.
Originally from Saint-Jean-de-Dieu, in Les Basques, the family had recently moved into the neighboring municipality of Saint-Médard. Ms. Chamberland worked in the kitchen of the Cantine D’Amours de Trois-Pistoles, while Mr. Jalbert was a truck driver for Transport Gaetan Rioux, a transport company of animals from Saint-Jean-de-Dieu. The eldest of the couple, a boy of about ten years, was at school at the time of the tragedy.
