(Nashville) After three months of waiting, Jarred Tinordi finally play its first game of the season in the National League this evening, facing the Nashville Predators.
He replaces Jeff Petry who is not able to play following the defeat of Jamie Benn that caused him to leave the game Saturday night in Dallas. Petry practiced yesterday and participated in the optional skate this morning, but the team prefers to play it safe and let it fully recover from a minor injury to the upper body.
Tinordi returns to training after being cut off at 29 consecutive games in addition to having been temporarily transferred to St. John’s IceCaps for fitness purposes.
“He was sent to play a few games in the American League because it was important that he plays a little, recalled Michel Therrien. It is to keep things simple, it makes a good first pass and it runs basic games.
“It’s a situation that was very difficult, we are aware. But he has worked extremely hard and he deserves to know a good match. ”
Tinordi will be paired with Tom Gilbert while Andrei Markov veteran compatriot Alexei Emelin find her, with whom he has not brought the pair since the 2014 playoffs.
