Former US President George HW Bush was hospitalized Wednesday after breaking a vertebra in a fall, reported CNN.
The injury did not put his life in danger and Mr. Bush was in stable condition, according to CNN citing spokesman Jim McGrath.
Former president 91 years old, which fell Wednesday morning at his home in Kennebunkport, was treated in hospital in the city of Portland, some 30 kilometers away, said CNN.
“We do not expect a long stay” in the hospital, said Dr. McGrath to the chain.
Bush, the oldest of four former US presidents still alive, uses a wheelchair and appeared weakened in his recent public appearances.
In December, the 41st US president had been admitted to a hospital in Texas (south) for respiratory problems. In November 2012, a bronchitis had already forced to spend two months between the walls of this same hotel.
Bush, patriarch of one of the most important US political dynasties, is the father of former President George W. Bush.
His second son, Jeb, recently launched in the race for the White House for the 2016 election, running as a candidate for the Republican nomination.
