A man in his twenties was seriously injured in a head-on collision involving three vehicles including a truck this afternoon in Montreal while attempting a dangerous overtaking maneuver.
The accident occurred at 14 h 55 on St. Patrick Street in the limit of Ville-Émard district and the borough of LaSalle.
The driver of a vehicle, which was traveling eastbound, paid exceeded by the left in a place where this maneuver is prohibited. He was then hit hard by a truck traveling in the opposite direction.
The car he had just passed was also damaged during almost frontal collision. “The driver who was on the overrun has multiple fractures, but it is not life threatening,” said André Leclerc, spokesman for the police department of the City of Montreal (SPVM).
The driver of the truck, and the driver of the other vehicle were not injured in the collision. At the time of the accident, the rain had stopped, said André Leclerc.

At 22 am, St. Patrick Street was still closed in both directions between Irwin Street and Angrignon Boulevard, near the Lachine Canal.
