Hundreds of unionized public employees, members of the CSN held Sunday noon to protest outside the National Assembly to support their claims with respect to negotiations for the renewal of labor contracts.
The event was then held that members of the Common Front intersyndical recently announced the postponement of strike days planned the first three days of December.
The union wanted among others denounce what they call “impoverishment measures” put forward by the President of the Treasury Board, Martin Coiteux.
Francine Lévesque, Vice President of the CSN, is disappointed with the line adopted by Québec at the bargaining table.
“Our message to the government is clear: a proposal that would take them public employees to impoverishment, either now or in retirement, remains totally unacceptable,” said Ms. Lévesque by press.
She says the government currently generates surpluses and he can not devote the only tax cuts for the wealthy and for corporations.
CSN urges the Minister gives Coiteux real terms its negotiators so that the parties can reach an agreement.
