Luc Tremblay, who took over the reins of the Montreal Transit Corporation (STM) on an interim basis, has been confirmed in office.
The Board of Directors of the STM confirmed this morning in a statement to have found a successor to Carl Desrosiers, who was fired last December. Although the STM had hired a headhunting firm, Odgers Berndtson, to find candidates especially internationally, it is ultimately within the staff of the Montreal carrier that the candidate has been chosen.
Luc Tremblay in fact work for 21 years in the STM. He held the position of Treasurer, Chief Financial Officer, before becoming interim CEO in December.
In its priorities, the new CEO says he wants to improve customer service and improve finances of the carrier. Its mandate is announced tumultuous while the government is reviewing the governance of public transit in the Montreal area.
Long six months, the selection process has identified 150 candidates “in both the local and international scene.” Six were recommended to the selection committee and four interviewed.
