Major Striking against organized crime

salvatore-cazzettaPolice this morning leads a major strike against leaders of organized crime in Montreal. The former warlord Hells Angels Maurice “Mom” Boucher is one of the suspects.

He was arrested in his cell in the maximum security prison of Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines, about a conspiracy to commit murder against another crime boss of Quebec, also owned, Raynald Desjardins.

Several other influential individuals were arrested, including Leonardo Rizzuto, the son of the late Mafia boss Vito Rizzuto and the gang leader Gregory Woolley.

The lawyer Mr. Loris Cavaliere Stefano Sollecito, and a member of the Hells Angels Salvatore Cazzetta were also apprehended.

Police reports on the operation at 10:30 this morning.

“We have dealt a major blow against the networks that are rooted in Québec,” said the investigating officer in the RCMP, Gaétan Courchesne.

“This operation has seriously destabilize the actors of organized crime in Montreal and sends a clear message to those who would take over,” added the deputy director Didier Deramont SPVM.

For his part, the Chief Inspector of the SQ, Patrick Bélanger explained that Mr. Loris Cavaliere would have acted as facilitator for criminals. “His office was used as a legal shield, as a central place of the alliance between criminal groups, it held meetings almost daily,” said the policeman about the lawyer who faces a charge of gangsterism.

Mr. Bélanger explained that Sollecito Stefano and Leonardo Rizzuto Vito Rizzuto replaced at the head of the Mafia in the latter’s death in December 2013. They then formed an alliance with the Gregory gang and the Hells Angels Woolley, that separated them territories were divided into three shares tax levied on drug trafficking cells.

As for the murder plot against the boss Raynald Desjardins involving former chief warrior of the Hells Angels, Maurice Boucher, he explained that he conspired with Gregory Woolley through his daughter to remove Raynald Desjardins for the purpose of revenge and make disappear a competitor in the drug trade.

The strike aims to dismantle organizations seeking to control territories for the supply, distribution and trafficking of drugs. Forty individuals were targeted in the operation which is performed by more than 200 police officers from the Sûreté du Québec, the Police Service of the City of Montreal and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Typing is conducted by the Joint Regional squad of Montreal, and the alliance is leading the Montreal organized crime.

The arrests mainly in Montreal and on the southern and northern rings of the metropolis.

Reportedly, Woolley would be the main target in the operation this morning. He is suspected of leading a gang that acted as a pivot between the mafia and the Hells Angels, who controlled the street in Montreal.

He was arrested around 5:30 this morning at his home in a quiet neighborhood of the borough of Saint-Hubert.

Since the natural death of mobster Vito Rizzuto in December 2013, the traditional Italian organized crime in Montreal is led by a board composed of the son of the new generation of Sicilian established families. The police believes that Leonardo Rizzuto, who has the title of lawyer, based on this table. Another of its alleged members would Stefano Sollecito, son Rocco Sollecito, former lieutenant of Vito Rizzuto.

Stefano Sollecito is, according to our sources, the one who looked after the operations of the street and resolve conflicts for the Mafia since the establishment of the management table.

This strike is related to a series of searches carried out under investigation at the end of last year and early this year, and in which several individuals were arrested and quickly released, including Salvatore Cazzetta.
