The general manager of the Montreal Canadiens, Marc Bergevin, believes that solutions to problems in the attack of Habs possibly found among his young players.
During a press briefing at the Bell Sports Complex in Brossard, Bergevin said he was always on the lookout to improve his club, but he intends to let the opportunity to young players the organization to their place in the biggest club in the next training camp.
If it does not close the door to future employment on the free agent market, Bergevin was confident with the elements in place and recalled that several mistakes were made in early July in the history of the circuit, then that too huge contracts are sometimes awarded to players that offer performance below expectations.
He also returned to the transaction which moved Brandon Prust in Vancouver back Zack Kassian and a fifth round pick in 2016.
Bergevin said of Kassian he is younger, has a better template and has more potential to attack Prust that, in addition to cost US $ 750,000 less for the last year of contract remaining at both players. However, he started his press conference by thanking Prust, which rendered great service to the team and brought “something missing” the Canadian.
