(Quebec) The owner of Capital Group Media and former Liberal minister Martin Cauchon was awarded the distinction of Emeritus Lawyer Friday by the Quebec Bar.
The training lawyer admitted to the Bar in 1985, is one of twenty winners lawyers in the province.
Having completed a part of his career in the political arena, including Martin Cauchon served as Federal Minister of Justice in 2002 and 2003.
Having developed an extensive knowledge of the Chinese market, Mr. Cauchon was identified as one of the best lawyers in the area of trade law and international funding in the 2014 edition of The Best Lawyers in Canada, said the Bar.
In April, Mr. Cauchon was also honored by the Bar by being awarded one of three Merit 2015, awarded in June.
Two lawyers from Quebec
Other recipients of the Lawyer Emeritus distinction, there are two Quebec lawyers: Ms. Sophie Gauthier, whose practice focuses on civil and family law, and Mr. Daniel Bouchard, specializing in the areas of municipal law, environmental and Administrative.
The honor of Emeritus Lawyer is awarded annually by the Society to its most deserving members to recognize the excellence of their professional actions, their remarkable journey that contributed to strengthening the image of the profession or their influence in their social environment and community.
The 2015 recipients will receive their award at a ceremony to be held in October in Montreal.
