The Impact striker Didier Drogba of Montreal was chosen player of the month of October in Major League Soccer.
This is the second consecutive time that the Ivorian harvest this honor, awarded by public vote on MLSsoccer.com.
During the month of October, the No. 11 Impact scored four goals in five games, including the training of helping Mauro Biello to win his last three games of the regular season to allow him to climb to the third degree Eastern Association.
Third place will allow the team to welcome for the first time in its history a playoff game in MLS on Thursday when it will host Toronto FC to a playoff.
In its second full month in MLS, Drogba was chosen once MLSSoccer.com Star team and also won the title after the goal of the week in the league.
Drogba scored twice in less than two minutes in the 2-1 win against TFC on Sunday to take his tally for the season to 11 in as many games, including nine as a starter. Former Chelsea striker and Olympique de Marseille scored in five games at Saputo Stadium.
