Nova Scotia could host rocket launch base

A small rural community in Nova Scotia may soon become a launch base for rockets carrying satellites.
Maritime Launch Services said it decided to build a shooting range near Canso and Hazel Hilll.
The Nova Scotia company says it chose the location – located in the municipality of Guysborough – after analyzing 14 potential locations across North America.
Once completed, the site would be used to launch the Ukrainian Cyclone 4M rocket.
The Ukrainian rocket supplier, Yuzhnoye and Yuzhmash, built and launched more than 400 spaceships in 62 years of service, said Maritime Launch Services.
John Isella, President Maritime Launch Services, is sure to be able to make a first launch in 2020.
