The Police Service of the City of Montreal (SPVM) is responsible for the investigation of a confrontation that occurred early in the night Monday in Outaouais, in which an officer of the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) was involved.
A suspected drunk driver was injured at least one gun shot during the confrontation and he remains in critical condition in hospital.
The event took place at 1:35 in Messines, a few kilometers south of Maniwaki.
A police patrol asked a motorist to stop on the way to the farmhouse and when he opened the door of the driver’s side, it would have restarted, causing the officer with him.
This would then fired, hitting at least one projectile reckless driver aged about 18 years, but not the passenger who was with him.
The officer was also taken to hospital, suffering from nervous shock.
It is the Minister of Public Safety, Pierre Moreau, who ordered the independent investigation is transmitted to the Police Service of the City Montreal.
