(Trois-Rivieres) Seven people were slightly injured in a pile-up occurred on Highway 55 southbound early Thursday morning. In all, four vehicles were involved in the accident.
According to initial findings of the Sûreté du Québec, a driver, who was about to take the ramp onto Highway 40 heading west, could not have avoided the collision and would have rammed three other vehicles. A distraction, added to a high speed, could be the source of the clash. The wet could also be blamed in the accumulation of components in question.
Fortunately, no one was seriously injured. The seven people involved have still been taken to hospital. Extrication tongs were used to remove some motorists for their unfortunate position. Firefighters were also involved.
In normal times, at this hour of the week, it is not uncommon for a small bottling is noticed in this section of the motorway network. Therefore, Thursday morning, motorists had to wait several minutes on as many hundred meters before to pursue freely their way.
