The Sûreté du Québec has intervened on a dozen road exits throughout the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean territory since this morning.

Three of them have injured minors while two involve heavy troopers.

Rows 6 and Caron, at Saint-Bruno, are currently closed to traffic.

A lady struggling with contractions who was not able to get to the hospital needed the services of paramedics.

Route 381 between Saint-Urbain and Ferland-et-Boileau is closed to heavy transportation. It is the same for the 172, between Sacre-Coeur and Tadoussac.

Saint-Felicien

Road conditions are particularly difficult in the Saint-Félicien, Roberval and Dolbeau-Mistassini sectors. The Sûreté du Québec registered a dozen minor road trips.

All major roads are snow covered and visibility is reduced. “We thought there would be more accidents than that, but people have adapted their behavior and it’s going quite well,” commented one of the heads of the job, Martin Denis.

The schools of the Commission scolaire du Pays des bleuets are closed as well as the Cégep de Saint-Félicien.

Strong winds caused a lot of power outages. The Lachenaie Youth Center in Roberval has been without electricity since 4:30 this morning. A generator provides electricity mainly for the secured area. Heating did not work, blankets were lent to young people and a cold dinner was served. For the time being, we are not talking about relocating customers. Electricity should be restored in the morning.
