Six clubs champions of Sherbrooke

ete-couronneesMinor hockey associations Sherbrooke and Coaticook out big winners of the day of the finals of the simple letter Orford League St. Francis (LOSTF) that took place at GM Thibault Sports Complex in Sherbrooke. Of the 15 champions crowned during this great day of the finals, six were from Sherbrooke and Coaticook four.

Border, with two titles, Magog, Lac-Mégantic and Haut-Saint-François shared the other five championships. Only the Val-Saint-François bit the dust.

The biggest surprise of the day was registered in Class B of the bantam division while the Metro Plouffe 2 Sherbrooke leached final Turmel Lac-Mégantic, the undisputed champion of the regular season with a meager setback and 16 goals granted only in 18 games, by 5-0. Alone Yan Roy donned four of the five goals of Champions. The goalie Xavier Moreau was masterful to harvest brushstroke.

Other unexpected champions have also had their day of glory. We can talk about Thibault GM novice A Sherbrooke (7th in the regular season), the Blazers novice C Frontier (9th in the regular season), Hockey Expert atom C Sherbrooke (7th in the regular season) and Junior Swimming Club A Sherbrooke (5th in the regular season).

Five champions formations in the regular season picked up where they had left, adding the title of the playoffs. These are Cantonniers 1 Magog (novice B), of Lac-Mégantic Turmel (atom A), the Border Coaticook (Bantam A and Junior B) and 1 Border Coaticook (Midget B).

Note that several had their final outcome in overtime or shootout, not to mention other parts that ended with a single goal in regulation.

Regional Championships

The 30 finalists of the League Orford St-François, which exactly half of Sherbrooke, now join representatives of the leagues of Bois-Francs areas of Yamaska-Missisquoi and Drummondville, the Regional Championships of Hockey men’s singles letter Estrie taking place all week in Acton Vale (novice B, Peewee C) Valcourt (B atom, peewee B), Victoriaville (atom C, bantam B, Midget B) Asbestos (novice C, junior B) especially Drummondville (class A of each division).

Regional championships simple letter female sector will take place in Cowansville also this week.
