After only a few weeks in office, the young vice president of the Bloc Quebecois Party passes.
Catherine Fournier announced Monday on social networks it was joining the team leader of the official opposition in the National Assembly, Pierre Karl Péladeau.
Defeated candidate in the riding of Montarville and says he wants to “contribute to the next victory of the separatists in Quebec City in 2018”.
In a message with a photo of her with Mr. Péladeau, Ms. Fournier says that this decision fits “in the continuity of (its) political commitment to make Quebec a country.”
Vice Chair of the Bloc will be ensured by another Bloc candidate who has suffered a setback election on 19 October, Kédina Fleury-Samson, has specified the woman.
Catherine Fournier was presented as one of the faces of succession to the Bloc Québécois. During the election campaign, the party has often designated as intervener in the media.
She had accepted the position of Vice President of the Bloc just hours after having been defeated in his riding.
