The discharge of sewage into the St. Lawrence will be held

seaAfter analyzing the issue for two days, the City of Montreal has decided to maintain its decision to proceed with the direct discharge of eight billion liters of sewage into the St. Lawrence River this fall in the scope of work lowering of the Bonaventure Expressway. The Coderre Directors assessed that this was the most acceptable scenario in the circumstances.

The City of Montreal will be a press briefing at 11am to present the analytical work that has been done in recent days to come to that decision.

Barring a change that will be announced this morning, the spill will be held for seven days starting on October 18. The discharge of domestic waste water will be held due to work for the construction of a new snow fall in the Bonaventure project.
