The girlfriend of Alex Galchenyuk was arrested Sunday morning at the home of striker Canadian, in what is treated as a domestic violence case by the Montreal police. Chanel Leszczynski, 27, was released and his case will be forwarded to the Director of Criminal and Penal Prosecutions (DCPP), which soon will decide whether charges will be filed.
According to information obtained by The Press several sources well aware of the record, Ms. Leszczynski arose Sunday morning at Mr. Galchenyuk, after the Canadiens 3-1 loss against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Hockey player, who lives in an apartment located in a Sherbrooke Street hotel was at home with other people, including his teammate Canadiens Devante Smith-Pelley.
For some reason, a dispute would have degenerated. The 911 call was made by invited young athlete around 8 am Sunday.
Officers from the Police Service of the City of Montreal (SPVM) were dispatched to the scene. Reportedly, the officers questioned Mr. Galchenyuk and guests, as well as customers and building staff. Ms. Leszczynski was arrested after being identified as the instigator of the fight.
