Kia has released the first photos of the new generation of its Sportage almost two weeks before its official unveiling at the Frankfurt motor show.
The compact crossover has been completely redesigned, with an emphasis on facies a lot more rounded. The rear now has lights most purposes, giving an image more refined. The cutting of the line roof, however, remains similar, which is not a bad thing.
Apart from its new design, Sportage will also provide more volume to the passengers, thanks to an increased length of 40 mm and a wheelbase increased by 30 mm. The trunk also won 128 L, which will allow to overcome the lack of capacity of the current generation.
The interior has also been revamped with better quality materials according to Kia, and better soundproofing. The new infotainment system will also recharge phones by induction and the Android app Auto. The camera will also be offered in series.
Nothing, however, has not yet been released regarding the mechanical specifications of this Sportage. Kia promises a better braking power thanks to a revised system and more beefy as well as a road-holding more incisive.
The Kia Sportage 2016 will be launched in Canada at the beginning of the next year.
