Quebec A diesel spill from the cruise ship Louis Jolliet required the intervention of Urgence-Environnement, Sunday morning, the Port of Quebec.
Urgence-Environnement is currently on scene and working with the Coast Guard to recover the spill estimated at 7,500 liters.
An electrical failure is the cause of the overflow of a fuel tank of the cruise ship. According to the Coast Guard, diesel traces were observed up to Île d’Orléans, earlier Sunday morning.
This is the Coast Guard advised that Environment Emergency spill to 7:40. Booms were installed to contain the overflow.
The Louis Jolliet is operated by AML Cruises.
