A VIA Rail train liaising Jonquiere-Montreal and Montreal-Senneterre derailed around 9 am Friday morning 30 near Montreal West.
Fourteen people were seated on the train when the incident occurred.
According to the Bureau of Transportation Safety, which sent an investigator to the scene, the second locomotive of the train would have derailed for reasons still unknown. No one was injured and the passengers were brought back to Montreal Central Station.
VIA Rail has announced that due to this incident, the train service between Montreal and Jonquière-Montreal-Senneterre will be canceled Sunday, December 13.
