Natalka Karpa from childhood knew and understood the value and significance of the national costume and embroidery were worn from infancy. Her paternal grandmother, Anna, was the real mistress of this case, so the house was embroidered everything, from clothing to paintings. All the ornaments have had special meaning. So, Natalie remembers a vivid example from my childhood when she came to realize that embroidery is not only a garment, ornamented, figures on the embroidery are often the characters in which is hidden the deep code of the Ukrainian people.

– Remember, even in Soviet times when it was impossible to have any Ukrainian symbols, my grandmother was nice embroidered veil. And I little remember when we went to grandma’s bedspread was on the bed. It was somewhat voluminous flowers like pads sewn. When in the 90s the Ukraine came to independence – look, but grandma otpaivaem these flowers. I ask: “Grandma, why do you beauty clean?”. What grandma didn’t say anything and only continued to unpick and when I put the flower I saw the embroidered Trident. That is my entire adult life, her home was the symbolism, which served as a protection of the house, – says Natalya.

Then she has designed dress with beautiful ornaments made of beads. The ethnic beauty of her attire attracted the attention of local residents – if you look to the embroidery of the peoples of Latin America, especially Mexican, then they can find Ukrainian a lot in common. The result is that the artist, returning home, start to build your own collection of clothing.

– Embroidery is not just an item of clothing, for me it is a sense of belonging to the glorious old, to historical events, to people who have been fighting for the independence of Ukraine, analyzes the theme of Natalka. – If I took designed his own shirt, then added it would be a symbol of love as in the song: “Chervony is for love”. Because love is a very strong feeling it everywhere, it gives, takes and restores … it seems to Me that my embroidery would be riddled with a good sense of love and at the same time it must be love to all – to the world, to his family, to the beauty of life.
