Ukrainian film “the Myth”, dedicated to the life of an Opera singer Vasily Slipka, won in the category of documentary films at the festival Figueira Film Art, which was held from 27 August to 2 September in the city of Figueira, Portugal. About it reports “UNIAN”.
“Myth” is a story about the life and death of Ukrainian Opera singer Vasily Slipka, soloist of the Paris national Opera. He was an active participant of the Orange revolution, and the beginning of the revolution of dignity, headed the volunteer movement and coordinated in France, public action to support Ukraine. 2015 fought on the Donbass. Vasily Slipak died June 29, from a sniper’s bullet near bakhmutskaya in Luhansk district, Donetsk region.
Later Petro Poroshenko has awarded Opera singer Vasily Slipko the title of Hero of Ukraine.
The film went into wide release first in February 2018, and then again from 28 June to 1 July.
Also “the Myth” was the last work directed by Leonid Kanter, who shot himself at his home in the village Obirky Bakhmach district, Chernihiv region on 4 June. On June 6 he was buried on baykovoye cemetery in Kiev.
