The Astrelles of the Cégep de l’abitibi-Témiscamingue have officially begun their season. If this first tournament and the following do not allow the training to collect points, it allowed us to target some points to improve.
“We have seen that our players have significantly improved their services. But we realized that we should work the front desk. We gave a little too much as during the tournament. This was a tournament interesting,” said the coach of the team Serge Hurtubise.
However, the driver wanted his team to continue in division A. note that the last two teams of the division are relegated in B division for the next tournament here. “We did play all of our girls, but when it was certain that we would maintain, it has really given the game time to our new recruits to gain experience,” he said.
Of the recruits who stand out
The recruits were a little nervous for this first tournament. “There are seven of us this year. And, in addition, one of our vétérantes, Genevieve Blagdon-Dubreuil, could not play because she was injured,” pointed out Serge Hurtubise.
It must be said that college education has lost three of his four attackers. “Darleine Guay-Boisvert played in the centre last year. It was transferred to the position of attacking, and it is in adaptation. It was also used Émie Allaire to this post. Arianne Richer has also done a good job,” pointed out Serge Hurtubise.
In addition, one of the vétérantes, Aurélie Baillargeon, had to adapt to a new position. “We use the pass. We only had Arianne Sewing in this post. For a first tournament, it has done a good job,” said the driver.
Four sets won consecutive
During the tournament, the Astrelles have first won their two sets in the face at collège André-Grasset 25-21 and 25-23. The girls continued their good momentum in the face of St-Jérôme winning 25-17 and 25-18.
They have then lost their two sets in the face at the Cégep Montmorency (19-25, 11-25) before you split the honours against Lionel-Groulx (25-14, 24-26) and Ahuntsic (19-25, 27-25).
