A joint factory Mazda and Toyota will be located in Alabama or North Carolina

About three and a half months ago came the news that Toyota and Mazda are preparing to build a joint plant in the territory of the United States, but the location of production facilities has not yet been voiced. According to recent reports, the plant will be built in North Carolina or in Alabama.


According to news Agency Reuters, which cites its own sources in the company Toyota, the new plant of the joint venture Toyota-Mazda will be built in Alabama, or in the territory of North Carolina. Representatives of both companies do not comment on the data, however, insiders claim that experts brands abandoned the idea to build a plant in Texas, Tennessee and South Carolina.

It is worth mentioning that Toyota and Mazda are investing in the construction of a production site of about 1.6 billion dollars, and object input in operation is planned for 2021. It is expected that the new plant will produce 300,000 vehicles per year and provide about 4 000 new jobs.

As previously reported, the company Toyota will produce at the new plant sedan Toyota Corolla, while Mazda has not yet decided on the model line, but plans to give preference to crossovers.
