A suspect in the case of backpacks Avakov has signed a deal with the investigation

Court of Kharkiv has approved the agreement of the suspect in the case “backpacks Avakov” Volodymyr Lytvyn with the investigation. About it reports “Radio Freedom”.

The decision was taken today, September 11, during the first hearing.

As reported, the agreement provides for the recognition of Lytvyn guilty under part 4 of article 190, and part 4 of article 358 of the criminal code of Ukraine – fraud and forgery. It is assigned a penalty of 5 years imprisonment with a probation period of 2 years, as well as the obligation to pay damages in the amount of 4,845 million.

The decision will come into force 30 days after the expiration of the appeal period.

We will remind, Vladimir Litvin remains the only suspect in the case “backpacks Avakov”. He is a firm which in 2015 won the tender for the purchase of backpacks for national guardsmen. With him involved the son of interior Minister Alexander Avakov and former Deputy interior Minister Sergei Chebotar.

In July 2015, the Prosecutor General’s office started criminal proceedings on the case about the purchase of backpacks for the needs of ATO. According to the journalist Novel Boccali, the interior Ministry has purchased backpacks for 3 thousand UAH per share for a total amount of UAH 14.5 bn. After some time on YouTube there was a video of the conversation of persons similar to Sergey Chebotar and Alexander Avakov, with another person, where they agreed to supply backpacks before bidding.

November 1, 2017, the court chose the son of Alexander Avakov measure in the form of personal commitment with the wearing of an electronic bracelet. A similar measure was chosen Chebotar. In early November, 2017 Solomensky district court of Kiev arrested the estate of the son of the Minister of internal Affairs Avakov, Jr., Chebotar and Litvin. But in December 2017, the Appellate court of Kiev cancelled the decision about arrest of property of the son Avakov.

Later, on March 5, it was reported that the court repeatedly seized real estate of the son of interior Minister Alexander Avakov. It was reported that the three Parking spaces in the underground car Park in Kiev, as well as two apartments in Kiev and Kharkov.

In April, the Solomensky district court of Kiev cancelled the re-arrest of property of Alexander Avakov, however, may 5 is the same Solomensky district court of Kiev again seized.

July 10, SAP closed the case against the son of Avakov and former Deputy Minister of internal Affairs Cebotari due to the lack of evidence of their guilt. July 13 NABOO appealed against the closure of the case. Director of the NABU Artem Sytnik said that the expert was under pressure.
