Netflix is going to make his own adaptation of the novel of British writer George Orwell’s “Animal farm.” The Director of the film will be Andy Serkis, who will play her in one of the characters, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Serkis was looking for an opportunity to film “the Barnyard” in 2012. On this project he works together with producer Jonathan Cavendish (“the Golden age”, “Bridget Jones’s Diary”). And the writer will make Matt Reeves (“planet of the apes”).
This will be the second joint project with Netflix Serkis. Previously, the company bought the rights to his directorial work “Mowgli” – an adaptation of “the jungle Book” by Rudyard Kipling. The animals in this film were voiced by Christian bale and Benedict Cumberbatch. Originally premiere was scheduled for October of this year. However, Netflix decided to postpone the release to next year.
Serkis is known for his roles APE Caesar in “Planet of the apes” and Gollum in “the hobbit” and “Lord of the rings”.
The novel “Animal farm” published in 1945. It is an allegory for the Russian revolution in 1917. In the story the animals are driven from the farm by her cruel owner Mr. Jones and establish their own rules. The writer showed how the revolutionary ideas of General equality degenerate into dictatorship and totalitarianism. Due to the power of the barnyard captures a pig named Napoleon.
