At auction in the US for $400 thousand bought the guitar of Bob Dylan

At Saturday’s auction in the US for $400 thousand bought the guitar, the iconic poet and musician Bob Dylan. This was announced by the Texas auction house Heritage Auctions.

 

Acoustic Martin D-28 that once belonged to Bob Dylan, went under the hammer in Dallas. It was acquired by an unidentified buyer for $396,5 thousand. Initially, the lot was worth $250 thousand. A new instrument of the same model can be purchased for $3.3 thousand.

Dylan bought the guitar in 1963, and played it for 14 years. In its track record – “Concert for Bangladesh” in 1971, designed to raise money for the rehabilitation of refugees from war-stricken areas, today known as East Pakistan. The charity event was organized by George Harrison, a former resident of The Beatles.

In 1977 Dylan wanting to go to Gibson, sold a Martin D-28 Larry Craig – his guitar technician, for $500. He hid the guitar in the case, and did not get it until the last time – that Craig put up the acoustics for sale in Texas.

Bob Dylan in 2016 received the Nobel prize for literature. The Committee awarded the musician for the creation of song traditions USA new poetic expressions.
