In the framework of the 34th Warsaw film festival will show three films made in coproduction with Ukraine. In the non-competitive programmes submitted pictures “Ether” by Krzysztof Zanussi and “When a tree falls” Marysia nikitiuk. And for the prizes of the festival will compete in the short film “Lifter” Dmitry Suholitky-Sobchaka. This was reported on the website of the festival.
In the non-competitive section “Special screenings” of the Polish Director Zanussi will show his new film “Air”. She starred in coproduction Italy, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland and Ukraine.
The story takes place in the early twentieth century. The doctor-experimenter treats his patients with untested drug called “Ether”. Once it exceeds the permissible dose of this medication, causing his lover dies.
In another non-competitive program of the film forum called “Discovery,” will present the drama “When a tree falls”. She starred in the coproduction of our country with Poland and Macedonia.
The film is about a girl called Larissa who is in love with a young gangster named Scar. Relatives and friends of the protagonist condemns her relationship with this guy. But Larissa is trying to counter the stereotypes of society.
And in the short films competition of the 34th Warsaw film festival involved the picture of Dmitry Suholitky-Sobchaka “Lifter”. The film also was filmed in co-production with Poland.
The film is about an athlete who is engaged in weightlifting, and his relationship with the girl. Previously, this short work won the national competition in Kiev international film festival “Molodist”.
The Warsaw film festival will be held from October 12 to October 21. It belongs to the class “A” on a par with Cannes, Berlin, Venice and a dozen other prestigious film festivals.
