Audi brought at the motor show in Geneva a prototype of its first production model electric — crossover e-tron. Shown at the motor show the car covered in special camouflage uniforms with logos e-tron.
The exact characteristics of the electrical crossover in the Audi was not called. The automaker said that the SUV will complement the AWD system. In addition, 30 minutes of charging at a special station stop for “long travel”.
Production of Audi e-tron will begin in late 2018. The production model will establish at the enterprise a carmaker in Belgium.
Before the start of production Audi will test the model in real conditions. This will involve around 250 test prototypes. They will test at temperatures from minus 20 to plus 50 degrees Celsius. The tests will be carried out in the highlands and on the Nurburgring. All cars will travel over five million kilometres.
The head of Audi Rupert Stadler said that by 2020, in line automaker will have three electric cars. To e-tron will join the sedan and a compact crossover. By 2025, the model series Audi filled up with more than 20 carts and plug-in hybrids.
