The Kremlin-controlled government annexed the Crimea plan fall 2018 to resume the ferry service between the Peninsula and Turkey. He added that the ferry line will be available for fruit and vegetable import from Turkey and meat from the Crimea. According to Volkov, it is expected that the ferry will be able to go to Turkey from the port of Kerch, to the nearest automobile bridge across the Kerch Strait.
Volkov also noted that the passenger sea traffic with Turkey is planned to start in 2019.Earlier it was reported that in October of 2017, the Turkish authorities decided not to take the ships arriving from the ports of the Crimea. The ban applies to ships under any flag.Recall, seaports, located on the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (Evpatoria, Kerch, Sevastopol, Feodosia, Yalta), closed on the instructions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine from 30.04.2014 № 578-p (“Some questions of functioning of Maritime and river transport”) and in accordance with the order of the Ministry of infrastructure of Ukraine dated 16.06.2014 No. 255 (“On closure of sea ports”).
The vessels under foreign flags at closed seaports and terminals, located on the territory of Crimea and Sevastopol will be considered as a violation of international law, as actions undermining the sovereignty of Ukraine, as well as violation of the legislation of Ukraine, which entails the responsibility of ship owners, operators and ship captains, including criminal.
