As of July 31, Canada has started to collect biometric data from all visa applicants with Ukrainian citizenship. This was reported in the Ministry of immigration of Canada, reports “UKRINFORM”.
“Biometric data (fingerprints and digital photographs) will now be taking applicants for tourist visas, work permits, study and permanent residence in Canada. The biometrics will be collected from each applicant only once in 10 years, regardless of the length of issued visas”, – stated in the message.
It is noted that due to the introduction of biometric control will rise and the cost of the visa, as the consular fee now added a fee for the collection of biometric data. If earlier tourist visa to Canada, taking into account all commissions cost the applicant about 140 canadian dollars (about 2860 UAH), now will cost about $ 190 (about 3890 UAH).
Earlier, the government of Canada reported that while not considering the possibility of introducing a visa-free regime for Ukrainians, because Ukraine does not meet the requirements put forward by Canada.
