The guard reservist Colton Point has stopped 20 shots and Canada beat Slovakia 6-0, on Wednesday at the world Championship of junior hockey.

Jordan Kyrou picked up a goal and two helpers for Canada (2-0), while Jonah Gadjovich has registered two goals. Sam Steel, Taylor Raddysh and Maxime Comtois were the other goalscorers for the troupe Dominique Ducharme.

Point got the start in place of Carter Hart, who had made 29 stops in a win of 4-2 against Finland on Tuesday.

Hart is one of seven players from Canada return after winning the silver last year and it is expected that he is the keeper # 1 of training for the majority of the tournament.

However, with two games in as many nights early in the tournament, Ducharme had decided to give a night off to Hart.

The defender Kale Clague was not of the party, which has been reached in the right foot by a shot on Tuesday.

David Hrenak was pushed out of the 46 shots in front of the net to Slovakia (0-1).

Canada will play its next game Friday against the United States, outside the New Era Field.

An early goal

Steel opened the scoring after only 3:39 to play. The defender Cale Makar was dark at the net and joined Steel on the reverse. Steel filed a knee on the floor to scan the disk in the opening.

Canada held its breath late in the first period, when defenceman Jake Bean has been knocked dangerously by Marian Studenic. Bean fell head first against the band and remained lying on the ice for long moments, before retreating to the locker room.

Fortunately for Canada, Bean is back in the game in the second period, being used for only 2:21.

Kyrou has demonstrated the breadth of his talent in numerical advantage in the second period, when he slipped the disk between the legs of a defender before surprise Hrenak at 1:24.

Gadjovich has widened the gap to 3-0 just over four minutes later, taking advantage of a return to beat Hrenak the reverse.

Raddysh added another goal in the digital advantage with 9:27 to make the second twenty. He deflected a pass from Kyrou against the leggings Hrenak, then sent back into the goal.

Comtois and Gadjovich have confirmed the result with two more goals late in the third period.
