Clerk in Kherson doused with sulfuric acid, – preliminary results of the examination

The substance that poured in Kherson, acting Manager of the Affairs of the Executive Committee, Advisor of the mayor Catherine Gandzyuk, turned out to be concentrated sulfuric acid. This is evidenced by the preliminary results of the forensic examination, reports the press service of the police of the Kherson region.

“According to the preliminary conclusion of forensic medical examination received today it became known that the substance that poured officials, is concentrated sulfuric acid. In connection with the receipt of the conclusion about the severity of his injuries and danger to life this crime is qualified under article 15, paragraph 4 of part 2 of article 115 of the Criminal code of Ukraine (“Attempt at murder with special cruelty”)”, – stated in the message.

In addition, the investigation suggests that the malefactor might be not alone and with accomplices. They were probably waiting for him in the car and thus ran away from the scene.

“Now the consequence considers some versions of an event, including the offence is committed in connection with official activities of the victim, in connection with an active civil position of the victim and possible conflict situation”, – explained in the police.

At the moment the investigation is ongoing, conducted all the necessary investigative and search activities.

We will remind, on Tuesday, July 31, to the counselor of the mayor of Kherson Catherine Gandzyuk was attacked near the porch of her house. The man doused her with acid, now the woman is hospitalized.

She received chemical burns over 30% of the body. Is the scalp, face, hands, feet, the front part of the chest, the burn in his left eye.

It is noted that Gandzyuk is in serious but stable condition.

The attack on the employee of the city Council of Kherson reclassified from “Hooliganism” to “Serious bodily injury committed with the aim of intimidation”.

The case was taken under the personal control of Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko.
