The Russian boundary boat staged provocations in the sea of Azov by dangerous manoeuvres. This was reported in the press center of the state border service of Ukraine. It is reported that the Russian vessel “mongoose” maneuvered in a dangerous manner near the Ukrainian boat of sea protection in the area Dolzhanskaya spit.
“During the interview, the Russian crew said that it follows in accordance with the task, but then changed course and moved in the direction of the Ukrainian boat. While he was performing dangerous maneuvers and approached a few meters to the boat service. Russians advised to change course, to which they again responded with a dangerous manoeuvre, creating dangerous navigation conditions. Further, the Russian border patrol boat still changed direction,” – said the Ukrainian border Agency.
There’s also noted that such actions of the crew of the Russian vessel has violated the requirements of the international regulations for preventing collisions at sea and “tries to create provocative actions”.
Note that in the last three months, the activity of Russia in the Azov sea has increased significantly. The Russians do not allow trading ships to the Ukrainian ports and out of them easily pass through the Kerch Strait. In this regard, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko instructed the Minister of defense, the chief of the General staff and high command of the Navy of Ukraine to take measures to stop Russian provocations against blocking entry of ships in Ukrainian ports in the sea of Azov. The Ministry of infrastructure of Ukraine has developed a package of measures in response to Russia’s actions. It was reported that the package of measures includes limiting passenger traffic with Russia.
Ukraine has also advocated the imposition of sanctions against the black sea ports of Russia due to the blockade of the sea of Azov.
