The rupture of the Treaty of friendship, cooperation and partnership between Russia and Ukraine could lead to full surrender to Russia of the Azov sea. This broadcast “112 Ukraine” said the representative of the Cabinet in Parliament Vadim Denisenko.
“Now to terminate such a contract is in fact to make a huge step in order to give the sea of Azov, Russian Federation is fully aware of the catastrophic situation which at the moment is in the sea of Azov”, – said Denisenko.
According to him, it’s time to break the contract, because from a legal point of view, we “are not doing themselves in international courts”.
Lawyers also say that at the moment there are opportunities to continue the case in courts. If this were not so nobody would have denounced the Treaty, so long anonsirovana a number of intergovernmental agreements between Ukraine and Russia, in particular, and on the sea of Azov. According to Denisenko, any such thing can then lead to loss of huge capital at the moment “to knock through the courts” with Russia.
“I believe that we need to look for asymmetric responses to this question. We must understand that, unfortunately, forces us to the sea of Azov at the moment very little… the Symmetric answer of Russia in the Azov sea, at the moment we can not give,” concluded prof.
Note that the Treaty on friendship, cooperation and partnership between the Russian Federation and Ukraine was ratified by Verkhovna Rada in January 1998. The document enshrines the principles of strategic partnership, the recognition of the inviolability of existing borders, respect for territorial integrity and mutual commitment not to use their territory to the detriment of each other.
Yesterday the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko instructed the foreign Ministry to prepare for the rupture of the Treaty of friendship, cooperation and partnership between Russia and Ukraine. In the near future it is expected the necessary documents to initiate this process.
