The death toll from a powerful earthquake on the Indonesian island of Lombok has increased to 347 people. About it reports news Agency Antara, citing data from the regional Agency for disaster management.
“In the subdistrict of Tirtagangga killed 54 people, 171 people died in Kayangan, 11 in the Accordion, 54 in Tanjung and 57 in Pemenang”, – stated in the message.
Local authorities do not exclude that the number of victims can increase, as rescuers continue to assort blockages.
Recall, an earthquake of magnitude 7 points occurred in Indonesia on 5 August, its epicenter was located 18 kilometers North-East of the area of Lombok at a depth of 15 kilometers. Earlier it was reported 142 killed in the earthquake.
The USGS warned of a possible tsunami, but later canceled the warning. Before the earthquake the island was evacuated thousands of residents and tourists.
