Edouard-Boudreau Park: the suspect assessed in psychiatry

Daniel Pruneau, who allegedly masturbated in front of at least one child in a park in the east of Sherbrooke, will be evaluated in forensic psychiatry.

The 42-year-old is accused of intentionally committing an indecent act in a public place as well as criminal harassment of a minor.

“I know the accused well. He has a medical history that would be relevant to evaluate, “Benoît Gagnon said of legal aid when Pruneau returned to court on Thursday.

The file of Daniel Pruneau will be back in court on July 12 for the return of the evaluation on the ability to appear.

Pruneau committed these indecent gestures across the fence watching the children playing at Edouard-Boudreau Park on 10th Avenue South between King Street East and the Council at about 8:30 pm last Tuesday night.

At one point, he would have arrested a child who was in the park.

Adult witnesses of the scene intervened to put an end to the acts apparently committed by Pruneau.

They contacted the Sherbrooke Police Service.

Known to police services in other areas, Pruneau would also have broken probation conditions.

Criminal Prosecutor Me Émilie Baril-Côté objects to his release.
