The rider of the sports program of the Polyvalente Saint-Jérôme, Elizabeth Hosking has been named on the national team.
SNOWBOARD. The young athlete’s snowboard outcome of the sports teams Apexx, Elizabeth Hosking, is now officially a member of the national team.
Aged only 15 years, it is closer to his olympic dream. Elizabeth has been selected on team Canada’s snowboard thanks to an excellent performance at his first presence at the world Championships, Sierra Nevada, Spain, last march. She was then offered the best performance, in canada, in the half-moon, which now allows him to occupy the second place in the country in this discipline.
A few months from the olympic Games, Elizabeth is in the race to get his pass for a first participation. It is an additional motivation for this student from the fourth secondary school in the sports program of the École polyvalente Saint-Jérôme.
“Being now a member of the canadian team, Elizabeth will participate in the world Cup of snowboard. She will also be awarded additional funding, which will allow him to concentrate on his performance and his training,” said his coach, Catherine Parent.
Accompanied by his coaches, Brian Smith and Catherine Parent, Elizabeth will be traveling from the 22 June for a training camp in the Resort les 2 Alpes in France. It will take a few weeks vacation before resuming training and participate in a training camp in New Zealand. “We are starting a training specific to obtaining a place on the national team that will compete in the olympic Games of 2018 in PyeongChang, South Korea.
