In Ukraine in 2017, 24% of children were victims of bullying in schools. This is stated in the report of the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) “Daily lesson: Stop violence in schools”, reports “Interfax-Ukraine”.
According to the report, girls are more likely to experience psychological pressure, whereas boys more often subjected to physical violence and threats.
“40% of child victims tell anyone about this not told,” said UNICEF.
Also, the Fund announced that more than a third of students aged 13 to 15 years the world has experienced persecution.
“Every second student aged 13 to 15 years from around 150 million children in the world – reported that they were subjected to violence by peers in schools or near schools,” – noted in the Fund.
In the children’s Fund, the UN also urged to stop violence in schools, in particular through the implementation of legislation and policies required to protect students from violence in schools.
