The exchange of hostages is a sensitive topic, which hurts excessive publicity, so it’s best to put the public before the fact of exchange than to illustrate the process. Such opinion on air of “112 Ukraine” was expressed by the political scientist Andrey Zolotarev.

“There are some things, when the excessive publicity, when on every occasion, even a trifle, statements are made creates the reason, it negatively affects the negotiation process. This is a very delicate subject. Better to impose upon the agreement, than to illustrate the process,” he said.

Zolotarev also added that the exchange of hostages occurred through participation in the negotiation process the leader of “Ukrainian choice” Viktor Medvedchuk.

“In the last broadcast I talked about the exchange of prisoners, and who will be most effective in this matter. Some of the guys who spetsializiruyutsya on the sharpening of pencils on Bankova street were outraged that I said that Medvedchuk is an effective negotiator. But I repeated the words of the President, who on 28 February he said that Medvedchuk is the most effective negotiator in contact with Putin. Whether you like him or not, abstracting from motives, more than 1,000 people, 480 returned home – the fact of the person”, – he added.

Recall that in December last year, hosted the largest exchange according to the formula “306 at 74”.

We note that recently it became known that the participation of Viktor Medvedchuk in the negotiation process for the first time spoke German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Viktor Medvedchuk is a Ukrainian representative in the negotiations on exchange of prisoners in the Donbass (part of the sub-group on humanitarian issues of the Trilateral contact group).
