F1: Bombardier becomes sponsor of Quebecer Lance Stroll

Bombardier jumps into Formula 1: the business jet division of the Quebec multinational has decided to become a sponsor of its compatriot Lance Stroll, making his debut this season with the Williams team.

This is a one-time partnership agreement signed by Bombardier and the British team. Financial terms have not been disclosed.

This agreement will allow the aircraft and rolling stock manufacturer to see its logo on the Stroll helmet. He will also be visible in the team’s garages during all the 2017 races.

“This partnership provides Bombardier Business Aircraft with a unique opportunity to increase its outreach to a global customer base,” the company said in a statement. For Williams, this association wanted to be natural as both groups “share similar basic values”.

The Formula 1 season is set to begin March 26 in Melbourne, Australia. Stroll will participate in the second winter testing session this week. Last week, his first official participation in Formula 1 trials was punctuated by three runs in two days.
