The Primate of the UOC-KP, Patriarch of Kyiv and all Rus-Ukraine Filaret said that Russia has in Ukraine the Church property, and after the recognition of a Single local Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kiev-Pechersk and Pochaev Lavra shall become the property of the Ukrainian Church. About this Filaret said in an interview “Straight”, reports the press service of the UOC-KP.
“The fact that there is no ownership of the Moscow Patriarchate in Ukraine. Here take, for example, Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, Pochayiv Lavra – whose property? Property of the Ukrainian state. The state transferred its property to the use of the Ukrainian Church of the Moscow Patriarchate. But when will be here the Ukrainian Church recognized, Lavra – one and other – will be transferred to the Ukrainian Church. Because it is the Orthodox Church,” said Filaret.
He added that Russia and the Moscow Patriarchate is irrelevant to these shrines.
“Those parishes who built their temples at their own expense, then this property of these parishes, not Russia,” – said Filaret.
