The city Council of the Dnieper river will not prohibit the public performance of songs, the artists that supported the aggression of Russia against Ukraine. The mayor of the Dnieper Boris Filatov wrote in Facebook.
“All the press exploded with the “news” that in the river, want to ban the songs of Russian artists who supported the Russian aggression against Ukraine. I must inform you that on the website of the city Council each day there are dozens of draft decisions. Even the most bizarre. There will be a decision. First, it is impossible to fulfill. And, secondly, we are not at war with books and music. We fight for the freedom and happiness of their country. Everyone decide for himself how to live, what books to read and what to listen to. To be a citizen or a potential collaborator,” said Filatov.
As reported previously on the website of the city Council of Dnepr there was a draft decision proposing to prohibit the reproduction in public areas the songs of Russian and Ukrainian artists, support the Russian aggression in Crimea and the Donbass.
The proposed ban to include the songs of these artists in public places and on transport, hotels, restaurants, and cultural institutions and recreation.
